Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho's frustration with owners' penny-pinching growing as transfer targets remain unsigned

Jose Mourinho is on a collision course with Manchester United’s ­owners over the club’s ­failure to land his transfer targets.
The United manager feels that the Glazer family are ­trying to do business on the cheap – despite spending in excess of £100million to land Romelu Lukaku and ­Victor Lindelof.
Mourinho is a big fan of Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic, but United were reluctant to pay the £48m asking price and now Inter have closed the door on any deal.
“There has been no more significant contact in the last few weeks,” said Inter boss Luciano Spalletti before their Saturday victory against Chelsea ­in Singapore. “So for me the ­conversation is over.

“The more days that go by, the more difficult it becomes for us to replace him and, therefore, I would strongly ­oppose his departure.”
Mourinho also wants to bring in Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic – but has been ­frustrated by his club’s reluctance to meet the champions’ £40m asking price for a player who turns 29 next week.
It has got to the point where Mourinho is ­wondering whether United’s owners would be willing to spend £100m on Gareth Bale, should Real Madrid open themselves up to offers for the Wales ­superstar as they look to raise funds for Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe.
